C-16 Number 268 sits on a short stretch of track near the A&W root beer stand in Gunnison. Today this engine is nicely preserved under a protective pavilion.

It is August of 1952 and C-16 #268 looks sharp in its special silver and gold paint scheme at Gunnison. Today, #268 survives and has been painted in a similar scheme protected from the elements by a shelter.
